Baylor College of Medicine, Center for Cell and Gene Therapy is proud to join the National Gene Vector Laboratory for the production of adenoviral vectors. In September of 2002 the CAGT will open its new Vector Production Facility (VPF).

  • The new VPF is located on the 11th floor of the Feigin Center at Texas Children's Hospital.
  • 2100 square feet of viral vector manufacturing space. All product and preparation areas are HEPA filtered to Class 10,000 specifications.
  • Five viral vector production suites. All rooms are at positive pressure with respect to the common areas, and are equipped with air pressure alarms.
  • The facility design will allow multi-product manufacturing and large-scale viral production.
  • One-way flow of materials and personnel. The facility is protected by controlled access and has separate gowning and degowning areas.
  • All major equipment is on emergency power, and any sensitive or critical items are also connected to an uninterrupted power supply (UPS).
  • Controlled storage of supplies.
  • Access to the QA/QC facilities of CAGT.
